What Does an Alternator do?
One of the most crucial aspects of being a responsible car owner is to know as much about how individual parts of a car work as you can. The alternator is a part of the car that doesn’t get talked about a lot, but that doesn’t make it any less vital to the safe and smooth operation of your automobile.
Formerly known as a generator, the alternator is the part of the car that feeds energy to the battery so it can power up. It can also let you know if your engine is having problems. If the lights are too dim, you smell burning rubber, or you hear strange noises under the hood, those things could indicate a faulty alternator.
